From day one, his passion for drumming and teaching has been obvious. He breaks down complex techniques into manageable, understandable steps, making every lesson both productive and enjoyable. His approach is methodical but never rigid—he adapts his teaching style to suit how I learn, which has helped me progress much faster than I expected. What really sets Lewis apart is how encouraging he is. He’s patient, positive, and always finds something constructive to say, even when I am making a complete mess of it 🤣 His enthusiasm is contagious, and I always leave lessons feeling motivated and excited to practice. He celebrates every bit of progress, no matter how small, and that kind of support makes a huge difference. Lewis has a deep understanding of technique, timing, and musicality, and he communicates it all with clarity and energy. I’ve gained so much confidence in my playing thanks to his guidance. Lewis is knowledgeable and the lessons are relaxed, informative, good fun and I feel I’m making great progress” - Julie C “Lewis is my Music tutor and he tailored my drumming lessons building them around my singing. It was a very good experience” - Dave B “I've always been in awe of the guy on the drums. To me, he's the pulse of the band - timekeeper and in my eyes the boss when at rehearsals and of course when gigging. I’ve been in bands playing rhythm guitars and last five years' vocals also. At the back of my mind, I always thought how do these drummers keep it together. Then I noticed an advertisement for drum lessons at our local studio. I thought about it for some time. Made the plunge with Lewis, not knowing an iota about drumming and booked a lesson with Lewis. Lewis soon settled me down once I was behind the drum kit. With his plethora of knowledge and excellent teaching methods, the fog was beginning to clear. Together with his handouts to guide you, I completed my first drum beat, although only for 2 measures. Started to read drum music. I became excited and couldn't wait for my next lesson. Truly, Lewis is an excellent tutor” - Paul R “Lewis is an inspiring and effective teacher. While he's extremely patient, he also knows when and how to challenge and extend his students' skills and repertoires. He has an excellent sense of the pace of all of his students' development, and he can therefore adapt his teaching style accordingly. Hire him. He will help you to learn and improve!” - Professor Geoff B
